Top 5 Hair Loss Culprit For Women

Top 5 Hair Loss Culprit For Women

Women get a lot of telling off when there’s a lot of hair on the bathroom floor and basically all around the house. But most of the time we don’t really put a lot of thought into it because it seemed normal.

However, do you know why you’re shedding that much hair and when it’s not normal anymore?

Well, we normally lose about a hundred strands every day. But if all of a sudden you noticing clumps of your hair left on your brush, pillows, or floors that’s when you should be alarmed.

However, before you can go into hair treatments, you have to know what’s causing the hair loss in women first for you to know the suitable one. Here are the five most likely things that could be causing it.

1. Heat Styling, Over-Bleaching, Or Over-Processing Your Hair
Hair is the easiest part we can experiment with to change our look. This is why women tend to go overboard with heat styling, hair dyeing, and perming. The thing is no matter how enjoyable this is, it can damage weak point in the hair shaft causing hair to break off easily.

2. Hair Care Habits
Wearing too tight hairstyles, brushing too vigorously, shampooing too often or not shampooing enough are some of the bad hair care habits we make. Some of these can damage the hair follicle beyond repair, while others can lead to scalp problems and eventually cause hair loss.

3. Stress
This can either be physical, mental, or emotional stress. When our body is stressed in any form, we lose iron, B12, or proteins which are all vital to healthy hair growth. In this case, you can consult your doctor for supplements in your diet or/and seek ways to manage stress.

4. Scalp Condition
When the skin on the scalp is inflamed and itchy, and you frequently scratch the hell out of it, your hair may start to shed more than usual. Though most cases of scalp conditions like oily scalp, dandruff and psoriasis improve with over-the-counter medication, if you notice no improvement it’s best to consult a scalp and hair specialist.

5. Childbirth
Due to the changes in hormones during pregnancy, a lot of women experience hair loss. Some experience very mild, others go through intense shedding. But do not freak out because after delivery, hair resumes its normal growth cycle.
